Organisation Electrician
The electrician;
- May be accompanied by an Inspector from Electrical Accredited Inspection Body of Southern Africa Technical Signatory/inspector for onsite inspection to understand interventions required to ensure compliance to electrical standards or codes of practice
- Will remain responsible for all electrical construction work (s)he has done
- Conducts inspections and tests after work has been completed and may also be witnessed by Inspector
- Remains responsible for the quality and compliance of electrical work on the worksite
- Conducts the final inspection ensuring compliance, and will issue a test report as determined by applicable standards
- Completes the site test reports to support EAIBSA Certificate of Compliance(s)
Our inspection management system provides for a multi-tier inspection and verification system to ensure that compliance is achieved
Technical Signatory
The technical signatory will conduct inspections and tests for the purpose of
- Providing a fault report
- Providing a compliance report or Issuing an Inspection Certificate with a Certificate of Compliance (Annexure 1) supported by a Test Report for all levels of electrical installations, including specialised/hazardous locations and PV power supply systems.
Electrical Inspector
Conducts inspections and tests under general control of the Technical Signatory. The inspector will conduct inspections and tests for the purposes of;
- Providing a fault report or
- Providing a compliance report for all levels of electrical installations, including specialised/hazardous locations and PV power supply systems
- Monitoring the repair process if requested by the client and if it is part of service
- Conducting the final inspection ensuring compliance
- Signing the certificate of compliance
All our staff and Associates are not associated nor are they involved with any electrical installation contracting work or the electrical contracting company.
The reason for this is to ensure our independence and unbiased approach to ensuring compliance to legislation, standards and codes of practice.

ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS
EAIBSA offers inspection services to electrical contractors to provide electrical reports, detailing faults and defects where remedial work may be required to comply with relevant standards. These services are offered as independent services, whereby EAIASA has no vested interest in any remedial work and therefore the contractor has no anxiety of losing clients. EAIBSA as a SANAS accredited inspection body has strict confidentiality and impartiality requirements with their clients.
Electrical contractors can then elect to issue their certificate of compliance or request that EAIBSA issue an ISO Inspection Certificate together with a certificate of compliance and test report.
