OUR SERVICES TO INDUSTRY CONTRACTORS
Registered Electrical Contractors (DOL)
The contractor;
- is accompanied by an Inspector from the Electrical Accredited Inspection Body of Southern Africa Technical Signatory/inspector for onsite inspection, to understand interventions required to ensure compliance to electrical standards or codes of practice
- will remain responsible for all electrical construction work that (s)he has done
- conducts inspections and tests after work is completed and may be witnessed by the Inspector
- remains responsible for the quality and compliance of electrical work on the worksite
- conducts the final inspection ensuring compliance, and will issue a test report with the form as determined by applicable standards
- completes site test reports to support EAIBSA Certificate of Compliance(s)
Emerging Contractors
EAIBSA encourages the emerging contractors to work with the Inspection body, thereby allowing the emerging contractor the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge, and therefore ensuring the safety of the public and its staff, and;
- May accompany Electrical Accredited Inspection Body of Southern Africa Technical Signatory/inspector on the site inspection to understand interventions required to ensure compliance to electrical standards or codes of practice.
- Will be responsible for all electrical installation/construction work
- Conducts inspections and tests after all work has been completed and issues a test report.
- EAIBSA will be contracted to issue an ISO Inspection Certificate with a certificate of compliance. The emerging contractor will be responsible for the quality of and compliance of electrical work on the worksite as per contract.
